| The construction
key is mainly used during the construction or renovation
of a building, but can be used in any situation where
temporary access is needed for certain personnel.
DOM's solution
to temporary access:
During the construction phase of a building,
the contractors may need to lock doors in order
to restrict entry to certain areas or to lock away
expensive equipment.
Normally this
would present a problem:
What happens when the contractor has left
the site and the tenants have moved in? - If the
contractor has a copy of those keys, he can still
operate the locks months or even years after completion
of the building.
The DOM construction
key solves this problem effortlessly:
A small steel insert is inserted into the
lock during the construction phase, and the contractor
is issued with a special 'construction key'. This
allows the contractor to lock and unlock doors as
he sees fit. This key will only work for as long
as the steel insert is inside the lock. Once the
contractor has moved off site, the steel insert
is removed (rendering the construction key useless),
and the tenant is issued with keys for the building
knowing that there are no unauthorised persons with
duplicates of the keys.
